Global Crane Services recently partnered with heavy lifting and transport specialists Mammoet and the innovative SEE MONSTER project to breathe new life into a retired rig from the North Sea. The result was a stunning public art installation in Weston-Super-Mare, aimed at sparking global conversations about sustainability and the importance of renewable energy.
The star of the show was the Liebherr LR 1750-2 crane, boasting a 750-ton maximum load capacity, a main boom ranging from 21m to 140m, and a lattice jib extending from 14.0m to 105m. With a maximum hoist height of 191m and a radius of 156m, the LR 1750-2 played a crucial role in repositioning the redundant jack-up rig onto its new platform.
