Our Glasgow depot recently supported M&S Engineering on the Anniesland train station upgrade in Glasgow by providing 230te, 130te, and 60te cranes for the installation of two new lifts, each standing 9 meters tall.
The installation of the Access for All lift towers is the latest effort by Network Rail to provide step-free access at the station. The lift towers feature steel walkways that connect the upper towers to the existing station platforms.
These improvements are part of the Access for All programme, which aims to provide a fully accessible station and more comfortable journeys for all – including those with limited mobility and people traveling with bicycles, pushchairs, or heavy luggage.
