For our client, Business in Wind, we were delighted to play a crucial role in the erection process of an Enercon E70 turbine in Perthshire. The main crane utilised was the Liebherr LTM 1750-9.1, and we also had the Liebherr LTM 1090-4.2 as the tailing crane.
The wind turbine parts, belonging to Simon Howie, The Scottish Butcher, arrived to a rousing reception in his home village on their way to Findony Farm, where crowds lined the pavements of Dunning to watch the lorries carrying the components, including three 35-meter blades, navigate the tight bends and narrow streets.
Simon Howie, who had invited “anyone who is interested" to come along to view the erection of the turbine, has pledged a £10,000 donation to the children’s hospice charity CHAS on behalf of the village and said he hoped it would make up for the upheaval in recent months.
