Global Crane Services Plays a Pivotal Role in the Bridge Installations Along the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route

In December 2014, Aberdeen Roads Limited was awarded the contract to construct the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route (AWPR). They subsequently appointed the AWPR Construction Joint Venture, comprised of Balfour Beatty, Morrison Construction, and Carillion Construction, to build the 58km road. One of the largest infrastructure projects in Scotland, the new route, expected to open in Autumn 2018, is part of Transport Scotland's commitment to improving travel in the northeast.

Global Crane Services played an active role in various bridge installations, using the Liebherr LTM 1750-9.1, for example, to unload the bridge beams in preparation for installation. Boasting a maximum load capacity of 800t, equipped with a telescopic boom spanning from 16.3m to 52m, and a lattice jib ranging from 6m to 91m, this powerhouse crane features a maximum hoist height of 152m and a striking maximum radius of 116m.
