As we approach the end of 2024, we would like to thank our hard-working team, valued clients, and trusted suppliers, as well as our parent company, Global Port Services, and sister company, Global Wind Projects for their continued support during what has been another exciting year for Global Crane Services. We'd also like to take this opportunity to share some of our highlights and milestones.
In direct response to the growing demand for our services across the Renewables, Oil & Gas, Construction, Rail, and Utilities sectors, we have strengthened our fleet by taken delivery of 12 Liebherr cranes. We kicked off the year with the Liebherr LTM 1090-4.2 as the first new addition, then at the end of November, we visited Liebherr Werk Ehingen to witness the handover of our LTM 1150-5.3 and LTM 1070-4.2 cranes, marking the last two deliveries of the year.
The renewable sector has kept us extremely busy during the year, we have supported Enercon, Siemens, Business in Wind, RES Wind & RWE Renewables to name a few on numerous installation & maintenance projects throughout the UK, utilising cranes ranging from the LTM1130 up to the LG1750.
A snapshot of some of the projects we were involved in includes working for Enercon on a maintenance pipeline of works at Hammars Hill and Burgar Hill wind farms in Orkney (650te and 90te cranes). For Business in Wind in Perthshire, we installed four E70 turbines at Strathallan Wind Farm, as well as an E70 turbine at Simon Howie's, The Scottish Butcher (750te, 650te, 130te, and 90te cranes utilised). We were also involved with SGRE on a blade bearing campaign at Killgallioch Wind Farm, South Ayrshire (2 x 500te cranes).
Other notable sectors include Rail and Infrastructure, with key clients such as Story Contracting and M&S Engineering. Projects include new footbridge installations in Levenmouth, Mid Calder, and Edinburgh, as well as station upgrades in Anniesland, Carstairs, and Dumfries.
Most notably this year, we were appointed by our valued client, DSV Air & Sea, to provide installation solutions for a bespoke Kone Goliath overhead crane project in Govan, Glasgow. For this project, we engaged trusted suppliers for the engineering work scope and Self-Propelled Modular Transporters. We also collaborated with our sister company, Global Wind Projects, for contract lift planning and labour resources. The project demanded specialised personnel to ensure everything ran smoothly and safely, and we were privileged to have our two Liebherr LG 1750 cranes available for the job.
In April, we exhibited at ScotPlant 2024 ā Scotland's biggest construction equipment trade event. Alongside our parent company, Global Port Services, and sister company, Global Wind Projects, we then exhibited at the All-Energy Exhibition and Conference in Glasgow, where the team were on hand to discuss GCS services, including CPA Crane Hire, CPA Contract Lift, Modular Transport, Heavy Haulage, and SPMT Hire.
Gordon Harper, General Manager of Global Crane Services, would personally like to add: āIād like to start by thanking our hardworking office staff, our Crane & Transport operatives, Fitters, Contract lift labour for their ongoing dedication. Thanks also goes to our clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and broader partners for their continued support throughout the year. We are very proud of our continuous growth and investment in new cranes throughout 2024. With further investment already planned, we are looking forward to 2025 and will remain as committed as ever to providing our support and services to all. I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a prosperous 2024."
