Below is some information about the Vessel, which has been taken from the Kishorn Port;

MV Kaami, a general cargo vessel salvaged six miles off the northwest coast of Skye, Scotland after running aground in March, has been dismantled and recycled in Kishorn.

Built in 1994, the 89.8-meter vessel, owned by Norway’s Misje Rederi, was sailing under the flag of Bahamas when it ran aground on March 23 this year. It was refloated by Resolve Marine Group and towed to Kishorn Port and Dry Dock on the northwest coast of Scotland.

Skibo Castle

Global Crane Services were delighted to work with Skibo Castle in the Highlands. Once home to the infamous Andrew Carnegie, it was a privilege for our team to work on such a historic building. Pictured is the Liebherr LTM 1060-3.1 rigged with full fly jib.

New Aberdeen City Bypass

Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route Balmedie to Stonehaven is one of the largest infrastructure projects in Scotland.

The AWPR Construction Joint Venture, which included Balfour Beatty, Morrison Construction and Carillion Construction Ltd*) were appointed to construct the 58km road.

Global Port Services were actively involved in numerous bridge installations at various locations throughout the project, shown is the Liebherr LTM 1750-9.1 located adjacent to the A96 unloading the bridge beams in preparation for the install. The long awaited AWPR fully opened in February 2019 and is already proving to be a key asset within Aberdeen’s busy infrastructure.

City Point Development, Edinburgh

Here's what our client said about the project:

"I would just like to say a Big Thank You to yourself and your team for the smooth crane lift operation that took place on Sunday 2nd June 2019 at City Point, Haymarket Terrace, Edinburgh.

As always the service was impeccable, extremely professional and all works were carried out on time and within budget notwithstanding the time constraints we were all under to complete these works at a very difficult location within Edinburgh City Centre.

My thanks and appreciation from all the team at ECGFS."

Global Port Services successfully complete pre-assembly activities for Beatrice Offshore Wind Farm

Colin Brown, Senior Project Manager – Offshore Wind for Siemens Gamesa commented” “SGRE worked with GPSS for around 18 months on the Beatrice Offshore Windfarm project. During this time both parties worked extremely well together, building up a strong relationship to the benefit of both parties. Through the scope of works that GPSS supplied within the onshore marshalling Port of Nigg, it enabled SGRE to successfully build the project utilising GPSS’s heavy lift crawler cranes and SPMT’s to manoeuvre our wind turbine components around, whilst also using GPSS’s associated labour for all loading/offloading and storage of these components. Throughout the course of our works on site, GPSS worked with us to achieve the best solutions for the project, utilising the skilled teams employed by them to deliver when required. These works were carried out not only to a high standard but also safely, managing to reach the end of the project with zero LTI’s with over 48,000 man hours worked. Myself and my wider team would happily work with GPSS again on any future projects.”

Installation of a Nereda Wastewater Project

Here's what our client said about the project:

“We have recently had the pleasure of working with Global Port Services on the on the installation of a large scale construction of a New Nereda Wastewater project (first Nereda Plant in Scotland) in Inverurie for Scottish Water. Global Port Services team made the Lifting period for our Transfer pumping station and Nereda Inlet works period as easy as possible. From the initial onsite specific surveys to the final continued contract lifts to meet our goals with safety first followed by a cost effective and seamless manner. We would have no hesitation in hiring Global Port Services again due to the “Can Do” attitude which made our technically difficult construction installation possible, they are our Crane Operators of choice and we look forward to working closely together on future Projects . Great team!”

Denmill Bridge Replacement Project

Here's what our client said about the project:

“Global Port Services provided the contract lifting on 4 occasions during the construction of Denmill Bridge. Technical staff were available to give guidance and advice on site specific lifting requirements in advance of all lifts. This guidance was invaluable given the challenging nature of the site. Members of the lifting team carried out their work with a competent professional attitude to health and safety ensuring that each lifting day went as planned. I would have no hesitation in working with Global Port Services in the future”

Gate Guardian at RAF Lossiemouth

The changing of the Gate Guardian at RAF Lossiemouth was an impressive sight!

Gate Guardians are a static display of equipment, often a decommissioned aircraft previously based at the location, which are placed near to and forming a symbolic display of ‘guarding’ the main entrance to a military site.

In this instance, the Tornado GR4 Gate Guardian was installed at RAF Lossiemouth as a tribute to the memory of four aircrew members who tragically lost their lives in a mid-air collision over the Moray Firth in July 2012.
